can anyone give me a bridal shower speech for the bride (for example: you are the bridesmaid/maid of honor and your giving a speech for the bride in her bridal shower) in not less than 2 mins.? (I would much appreciate it if it is translted in filipino but if not its ok.) Thank you so much! Best answer wins!
I have never heard of a speech at a bridal shower?? Wish I could help. Why don’t you just toast her and wish her and her fiance all the best and thank everyone for coming.
I’ve got less than a week to come up with something good – and to memorise it.
I was chosen to give the opening speech for my cousins wedding.
It has to include Islamic perspectives and duaas.
Much appreciated!
THANKS!!!
dont make jokes thaT arent funny
I need something that would be easy to memorize and sound sincere. I am the maid of honor at my best friend’s wedding. We are all early 20’s, so I’d like something that’s not too stuffy, but very sentimental. Any help please???

I need help with my maid of honor speech,I dont even know where to start please help!!!!
- Aim for about 5 minutes
- Don’t drink
- Keep it funny if you are a naturally funny person
- Take a deep breath if you get too nervous
- Write you speech early
- Try practicing in the mirror
- Make sure to have your best in the intro and conclusion
- Tell a story
- You can always thank the parents to start
- You can have a friend help you practice
- Speak clearly and loudly
- Don’t mention ex-boyfriends
- Try to prevent yourself from talking too quickly (this will happen naturally)
How many speeches am I required to give? I just learned that I may have to give 1 at the rehearsal dinner as well as 1 at the reception. I was also informed that I will probably make multiple toasts as well. Toast to the brides parents, bride and groom(at end of speech), bridesmaids, and 1 for the audience and toasts at the rehearsal too. Is this true?
From experience – keep speech short and sweet at rehersal dinner thank the bride & grooms parents (save the best speech for the reception)
1 Speech for the reception – Talk about the groom (1 fond memory) compliment how wonderful the bride looks and her organisation of the day has come together beautifully, compliment the bridesmaids for their hard work helping the bride, compliment the groomsmen helping organise the groom, Thank the brides parents (a few more words than thank oyu though), thank the grooms parents (more words than thanks) Then thank any interstate or overseas guests for their travels to the event – then a toast to the bride and groom may live a long and happy life together – When walking to be seated at the bridal table, seat the bridesmaids and bride before sitting down yourself – pure etiquette on such a special day – Good luck i hope this helps!!!!
my sister is getting married on friday and i hate giving speeches!!!!!!!!!! she just sprung this on me yesterday and I am freaking out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any help, i don’t want to tell childhood stories just a short happy speech. ANY help would be Greatly appreciated!
A wedding speech is a pronouncement of one’s well wishes to the bridal couple. It is not a long diatribe or a performance. You are perfectly right to keep it light and short.
It’s not a difficult thing to do. Simply stand up, raise your glass, and wait until you have a captive audience. Then wish them health, success, and the they’ll continue to grow in their love. Smile charmingly, then take your seat.
I’m working on a wedding speech for a friend.
Both my friend and future bride are wine obsessed. The love wine, drink wine, talk wine….
I want to write a speech using wine as the metaphor. My friends are not wine snobs, they are the first to admit… If a $6 bottle of wine is good for you, thats all the matters.
Does anyone have any ideas or cool suggestions for metaphors to be used…..or how I could incorporate this idea into my speech.
Thank
That shouldn’t be too difficult I think.. For example, you could use the metaphor of ripe wines: Young wines (for example a Beaujolais nouveau or an Italian Novello) can be very good wines, usually light /fresh and good for a few glasses. But wines that are more ‘mature’ gain taste; they become more typical, more complex, eve fascinating sometimes, and their taste remains much longer. For them to develop good, they need to be handled with care.
A good marriage should develop like a good wine: fresh and soft at first – and as time proceeds it develops; it may get more complicated too, but – if treated well- it will definitely gain quality.
I am going to be a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding in a few months. The maid of honor has recently informed the bride that she will not be giving a toast at the reception.
The best man does not know a lot about the bride and will not be able to say much about her in his toast. The rest of the bridesmaids want to give some sort of toast to the bride, but we are not sure how to go about it. There are four bridesmaids, and we would all like to have a part in the toast.
Does anyone have any ideas?
You are right to feel that something should be said, how odd that this couple doesn’t have the support system they should have in their best friends. When you choose a MOH and best man, they are supposed to be the happiest, and most dependable….how rude of the MOH! She may be a wonderful person otherwise, but in this situation she is only thinking of herself and wasting an opp to be a GOOD friend.
Speak to the bride first, because her personality/preferences do come into play here when deciding what would be appropriate.
Ask her if she would be okay if all 4 of you put something together (and all participate in the humor/sentimental toast somehow) OR if she would prefer only one of you.
*If she is okay with all 4 of you, than you have an awesome advantage in numbers and can deliver something really sweet and maybe even funny.
*If she prefers the second (only one of you) than maybe all 4 of you can collaborate and than choose just one to deliver the toast.
Whatever you do- you are a great friend to want to do something.
